Prepare your first local pickup

Give the fabricator a usable brief

State what the part will be used for, its dimensions, quantity, material and any surfaces that need a particular finish. Include tolerances where fit matters. Check that you have permission to use the design for the fabrication you are requesting.

Ask what is included in the price: preparation, supports, finishing, assembly and rework can all affect the quote. Keep the final scope and delivery date in the offer before paying.

Arrange the handover

Agree on the place and time in messages. Ask about opening hours, accessibility and packaging. A distance shown in search is approximate; get the actual meeting address from the fabricator. If either person needs to reschedule, tell the other through the order conversation.

Inspect before confirming

Check that you received the correct quantity and material, and look for damage or visible differences from the agreed work. If something is wrong, record it with photos and contact the fabricator from the order. Confirm delivery only after you have received the item.

Delivery confirmation and approval have different effects. Read the order's actions carefully: approval can release payment and end your opportunity to open a dispute or return the item. Review the order and payout guide before approving.

Leave a useful review

Describe the result, communication and pickup experience. Specific details help the next buyer decide whether the workshop suits their needs. Successful confirmed pickups build local reputation; shipped orders are rated separately.
