1. Relationship to PrintCommons
You provide fabrication services as an independent marketplace participant. Nothing in this Agreement creates an employment, agency, partnership, joint-venture, franchise, or fiduciary relationship between you and PrintCommons. You control your shop, equipment, production methods, working hours, and whether to accept a particular job, subject to the commitments you make through the marketplace.
2. Accurate machine and service information
You must accurately describe your machines, working areas, capabilities, supported materials, pricing, availability, shipping options, and other service information. Do not claim a capability, certification, material, tolerance, or production standard that you cannot reliably provide. If your equipment or availability changes, update or pause the affected listing promptly.
3. Reviewing work before acceptance
Before accepting a job, review the buyer's files, dimensions, material requirements, tolerances, finish, quantity, delivery expectations, and any other specifications needed to determine whether you can safely and lawfully perform the work. Ask for clarification before fabrication when requirements are incomplete or ambiguous.
4. Quotes and scope changes
Quotes must clearly reflect the work you intend to provide and must not be misleading. Material changes to price, quantity, material, finish, lead time, shipping, or scope should be documented through PrintCommons before the buyer is charged or additional work begins. Do not use hidden fees or intentionally understate a quote to move the transaction off-platform.
5. Quality, safety, and compliance
You are responsible for your fabrication process and for inspecting work before delivery. Follow applicable laws, regulations, equipment instructions, workplace-safety rules, and material-handling requirements. You are responsible for determining whether a requested material, process, or finished item is appropriate for your equipment and shop environment.
Do not accept work that you know or reasonably should know would violate law, platform policy, intellectual-property rights, export restrictions, safety requirements, or payment-network rules.
6. Prohibited and regulated items
You may not use PrintCommons to manufacture or facilitate unlawful weapons, unlawfully regulated weapon components, explosives, controlled substances, counterfeit or stolen goods, malicious devices, or other items whose manufacture, possession, shipment, or sale is prohibited. If a job appears regulated or legally uncertain, do not proceed until you have independently confirmed that you may lawfully perform and deliver the work.
7. Customer files, confidentiality, and intellectual property
Use customer files only as needed to evaluate and perform the requested transaction unless the customer grants broader permission. Do not publish, resell, reuse, or disclose a customer's private design merely because you received it for fabrication. You must honor the project license, creator commission, commercial-use terms, and other intellectual-property restrictions shown in the transaction.
8. Fulfillment, shipping, and pickup
Package work with reasonable care and use the shipping or pickup method agreed with the buyer. Communicate known delays promptly. If you offer free shipping, you are responsible for the shipping cost unless the order expressly states otherwise. Local-pickup arrangements should protect both parties' safety and private information.
9. Payments and platform fees
Transactions originating through PrintCommons should remain on PrintCommons. You may not direct a buyer off-platform for the purpose of avoiding marketplace fees, project commissions, payment protections, or transaction records. PrintCommons may deduct disclosed platform fees, refunds, chargebacks, reversals, or other authorized amounts from payouts as permitted by the applicable transaction terms and law.
10. Cancellations, refunds, disputes, and chargebacks
Cooperate in good faith with order reviews and provide relevant records when a dispute, refund request, payment reversal, or chargeback is investigated. PrintCommons may consider messages, quotes, files, shipment records, and other transaction evidence when deciding what action to take on the platform. Payment-provider or card-network decisions may be outside PrintCommons' control.
11. Taxes, permits, and insurance
You are responsible for registrations, permits, licenses, taxes, insurance, and business obligations that apply to your fabrication activity, except where law specifically places an obligation on PrintCommons or a payment provider. You should maintain insurance appropriate to the risks of the work you choose to perform.
12. Regulated, certified, and safety-critical applications
Do not represent ordinary marketplace fabrication as certified, code-compliant, or suitable for a regulated or safety-critical application unless you are actually qualified to make that representation and can satisfy the applicable requirements. This can include medical, life-safety, aerospace, structural, pressure-containing, electrical-safety, food-contact, children's-product, transportation, or other applications that may require specific materials, traceability, testing, certification, licensing, or quality systems.
You are responsible for identifying standards that apply to work you accept and for refusing work that cannot be lawfully or safely performed with your equipment, processes, materials, qualifications, and quality controls.
13. Suspension and removal
PrintCommons may pause or remove machine listings, restrict quoting or payouts, or suspend an account when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, repeated quality problems, unsafe or prohibited work, fee circumvention, infringement, or a material breach of this Agreement or the Terms of Service.
14. Responsibility for your work
You are responsible for claims arising from the fabrication services and goods you provide, including claims based on your negligence, unsafe production, material substitution, misrepresentation, infringement, or violation of law. The indemnity and liability provisions in the Terms of Service apply to your use of the fabricator marketplace.
15. Electronic acceptance
When you check the Fabricator Agreement box and submit a machine registration or machine update, you electronically accept this version of the Agreement and the Terms of Service. PrintCommons records the time of acceptance and the Agreement version with the machine listing. If this Agreement materially changes, PrintCommons may require renewed acceptance before you can continue offering fabrication services.
16. Contact
Questions about this Agreement should be raised before accepting work if the issue could affect whether a job is permitted or how it must be handled.
